Town of Rosthern - Where lifestyle counts

To commemorate Canada's sesquicentennial, our member of Parliament Kelly Block invited Rosthern Town Council to nominate some of our residents for a special medal recognizing their immense contributions to our community.

Two medals were awarded, and one of those recipients is our Town librarian, Pat Cooley. To say that Pat is dedicated to teaching is a very big understatement! Pat taught for over 30 years and even in retirement, has not stopped. She calls the past decade working at the Rosthern library her "dream job" and has a love of books that is contagious and breathtaking. Her appreciation for literacy also extends into her volunteer efforts, tutoring other aspiring learners and working with the library staff to come up with the next amazing project. Children and adults alike can't help but light up at Pat's smile and enthusiasm.

Pat has also had a long involvement with the world of synchronized swimming with a deep passion for inspiring young athletes to live their dreams. You will not find a bigger cheerleader on all levels of sport! Pat will be an official at the Sask Winter Games in North Battleford.

Along with her impressive involvement with sports and learning, Pat supports countless fundraisers and events in the Valley area, leading by example on how to make our community an excellent place to live. This medal is a small gesture for such a huge contribution, but our heartfelt thanks for your love, knowledge and support over the years, Pat! Congratulations!
